Artist Biography
Christine Blyth was born and raised in Charleston, SC. From an early age she pursued creative endeavors such as sewing and fashion designing, and quilting, but looked to healthcare for her field of study. She spent her adulthood in Central Florida where she graduated Cum Laude from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences.
After establishing her medical career, family, and raising three children, Christine returned to her need to create. After entering a regional quilting show, and seeing the beautiful art quilts, she decided to return to school to study art. She attended Seminole State College in Central Florida, primarily on scholarship and found her new creative outlet, drawing and painting.
After returning home to Charleston, SC, Christine entered several shows in local galleries and festivals, placed first in the acrylic division in the 2018 North Charleston Arts Festival. That same year she was juried into the Charleston Artist Guild as an Exhibiting Artist. She finds her voice creating abstracts drenched in color with acrylic paint, charcoal, pencil, and crayon. She creates to find balance and peace in herself. She creates to leave her mark on the world.
